OUR BACKGROUND

Meet People in Maastricht (MPIM) was founded in April 2021 with the intention to provide students with the opportunity to connect and socialize and fight loneliness in the student community due to the pandemic. The project was born online through a matchmaking platform that pairs up students based on their personality traits and common interests. 
MPIM started hosting real-life events such as parties, speed-datings, dinners, and game nights in September 2021. After hundreds of participants in the monthly Matching Rounds and regular events, an important milestone was hit when the association was registered and became a recognized student association. As the project was getting more and more visibility in Maastricht another step was reached when being part of INKOM, the official introduction week for Maastricht students that takes place every summer.
